Product Description

Application in Printing And Dyeing
1.Mercerization: Caustic soda is commonly used in the mercerization process, which is a treatment applied to cotton fabric to improve its strength, luster, and dye affinity. The fabric is treated with a concentrated solution of caustic soda, causing the cellulose fibers to swell and reorient. This treatment enhances the fabric's ability to absorb dyes and results in improved color fastness and a smoother, more lustrous appearance.
2.PH Adjustment: Caustic soda is used for pH adjustment in various stages of the printing and dyeing process. Controlling pH is crucial for achieving optimal dyeing results and fixation of dyes on the fabric. Caustic soda is added to adjust the pH of dye baths, fixing baths, and other chemical solutions used in the printing and dyeing process.
3.Scouring and Bleaching: Caustic soda is employed in the scouring and bleaching of fabrics. Scouring involves removing impurities, such as oils, waxes, and natural colorants, from the fabric before dyeing. Caustic soda is used as an alkaline agent in the scouring process to break down and remove these impurities. Similarly, caustic soda may be used in the bleaching process to remove residual color and achieve a white or light-colored fabric.
4.Dye Stripping and Color Correction: Caustic soda can be used in dye stripping or color correction processes.
