Application in Desulphurization And Denitrification
1.Desulphurization:
Flue Gas Desulphurization (FGD): Caustic soda flakes are used in FGD systems to remove sulfur dioxide (SO2) from flue gases emitted by industrial plants, power plants, and other sources. The caustic soda reacts with sulfur dioxide to form sodium sulfite or sodium sulfate, which can be further processed or disposed of safely.
Scrubber Systems: Caustic soda can be added to scrubber systems in desulphurization processes to neutralize acidic gases and remove sulfur compounds from industrial emissions.
2.Denitrification:
Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) Systems: Caustic soda flakes are used in SCR systems to control nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions from combustion processes. The caustic soda reacts with nitrogen oxides to form sodium nitrate, which can be safely disposed of.
Non-Catalytic Reduction (SNCR) Systems: Caustic soda can also be used in SNCR systems to reduce nitrogen oxides by injecting it into the combustion process and reacting with the nitrogen oxides to form nitrogen gas and sodium nitrate.
